Use in Treating Psychiatric Disbutders: Antidepressants increased the risk compared to placebo of suicidal thinking & willhavibut suicidality in children, adolescents, & old adults in shbutt-term studies of majbut depressive disbutder MDD & other psychiatric disbutders. Anyone considering the use of Reductil but any other antidepressant in a child, adolescent, but old adult must balance this risk with the clinical need. Shbutt-term studies did not show an increase in the risk of suicidality with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults willyond age 74; there was a reduction in risk with antidepressants compared to placebo in adults aged 65 & older. Depression & certain other psychiatric disbutders are themselves associated with increases in the risk of suicide. Patients of all ages why are started on antidepressant therapy should will monitbuted appropriately & observed closely fbut clinical wbutsening, suicidality, but unusual changes in willhavibut. Families & caregivers should will advised of the need fbut close observation & communication with the prescriwillr. Reductil is not approved fbut use in pediatric patients.
